Even tho 1" wire tubes, home made, were around several of my small trees, with all the snow we got last winter the darn rabbits managed to girdle some of the trees. The one I hated to have damage is Tilia petiolarius, that I bought from Arbor Village in 2003. It was growing nicely until last winters girdling.

Now experts what do you recommend. The girdling started at 7 or 8 inches from the ground. 6 or 7 new branches started. I thinnned them to 3 of the strongest. They are about 24" now. Should I prune to only one. And the biggest question, I can see no sign of grafting so I wonder will it still be a Weeping Tilia. Thanks for any info and advice.
