Eufaula wrote: Love It!!!!! I too had over 70 milking goats years ago! mostly Nubian and Alpine! We found out that in our Area The Nubians would succumb to the Cold and humidity in the Winter ( yes down south we have humity in the Winter too!!!!) and the Alpines would just Swelter in the summer! WE were always medicating or doing Vet visits or worse! We had a beautiful Nubian Buck that weighed nearly 200 lbs ,that just would not stay where he was supposed to and we wound up with a whole herd of Nubian XAlpine crosses! Well, I guess Nature Really does know whats best! We never had health problems again! the Crosses did well in all climates, plus gave so much milk that we were able to help some local farmers with their new calves ! I no longer have Goats but do love them! My Grands know I do and that I collect goat figurines , so Now all my goats are made from ceramic!!!! But .....Nubian Minis...............sounds very interesting!!!!!!! |
