3.AV Bagdad

In the book, Sunset How to Grow African Violets, copyright 1977, sixth printing January 1985, there is a picture of a lovely mini AV named 'Bagdad'. Description, per the book:

Bagdad - orchid lavender with deep blue shading, double; flat, deeply scalloped, dark green girl foliage, compact miniature

Wouldn't you love to grow that one? Well, you can't. I can find absolutely no information about this beautiful girl AV at all. Is it lost forever? Maybe...who knows? It is only one of many, many AVs on the AVSA's Most Wanted List. http://www.avsa.org/Library/VintageViolets.pdf This is a 9 page list of vintage AVs that they're trying to locate. Please check the list. Maybe you're growing one of the AVs listed. Think it's not possible that you could have one? We've all seen pictures of 'Blue Dragon' and many of us grow it and you can find it on eBay. It was on the Most Wanted List printed in March/April 2006. The list was updated in December 2006, and you'll notice a blank space where 'Blue Dragon' used to be. So, don't assume you couldn't possibly have anything on the list.
