A 16" plant can be transplanted but you have to be very careful and leave a lot of soil/mix around the root ball. Also, what did you use for soil/mix? Perhaps it needs some fertilizer? Can you post a picture? Tomato plants should be grown in a container that will hold a minimum of 3 gallons of soil/mix, more if they are the large indeterminate variety. I use those 20 gallon (I think) tubs that you can buy at Wal Mart and plant 2 indeterminate plants in each one. Here's a picture of my Park's Whopper Cr Improved that's been set out in one of these tubs for around 6 weeks. Hope this helps. Red |
