Not so much the yellow-red tulip combos, but something more distinctive: harmonious colors, complementary colors, contrasting forms or a mix of varieties (tulips and daffodils, for example). I'm always looking for combinations of two or three tulips that will bloom in concert -- and in colors and forms that really stand out. This year I was lucky to get a couple recipes to work:

1. Toronto and Quebec tulips with white Anemone blanda (sorry, no photo)
2. Orange Emperor, Yellow Emperor and Sweetheart (featured in photo)
