So i've been planting pots of lithodora over my retaining wall. It's a goal of mine to eventually have graceful swells of lithodora cascading over the rocks. Plus, i'm hoping it will control erosion between the boulders. In any case, ever interested in pacing myself, it's my practice to purchase four or five pots every nursery visit, and sink them into the ground, one batch of pots at a time.

Last weekend, i took the train to Seattle, and ended up staying longer than anticipated. About three days. Although i'd watered them well before i left, when i got back, the newly planted clusters looked all sad and wiltey, with the gorgeous blue blooms all faded and dry. The clusters that had time to establish were not so adversely effected. Just the newly planted ones looked ravaged.

Before i even unpacked, with heavy heart, i hydrated them, hoping it wasn't too late to save them. Indeed, they've perked up quite a bit, but they still don't look as resplendent as the established clusters just a few rocks away.

Do you think they'll live? Of course i'll find out before long, but ..... i thought i'd ask anyway. :)

Cheers!
