Water Gardening: My new bog filter, 1 by Terry

My DH and I built this in two afternoons. I spent part of a third day arranging the rocks and washing pea gravel to go in it, but all in all a quick project by our standards.

Of course, I had been planning (scheming?) for quite some time, and we were lucky enough to have a spot "ready-made" for it. The hardest part was getting the flow of the water right. Below is the finished product - sorry if the pic seems a little dark (when I edit my photos on one PC they look fine; when I open them on a second PC to post them, they seem dark :(

Next project: building a bog GARDEN to the left of the filter. Have the leftover liner, several plants that would be most happy in there; I just need some peat moss and someone with a strong back to dig it out...
