They have bloomed on and off throughout the past year. Mine are trees because I never pruned them except for taking off the lower branches. They grew fairly fast when the area in which they are planted had more sun.

The photo is somewhat deceptive. They cover a wider area than as depicted from the angle at which I took the photo.
