For a widely available and really easy to grow fragrant pink flowering viburnum, you ought to get Viburnum x bodnantense 'Dawn'. For me, it starts throwing blooms before Christmas on any warm day. Peak bloom this year was in January, when it was unseasonably warm. The cold snap starting later that month and running through February knocked it down, but it is now throwing the rest of the flowers that hadn't opened earlier. Great lead in to all the normal spring bloomers in the fragrant crowd. Planted in winter shade, it may just delay bloom till March. Supposed to be hardy up at the Morton. |
