It's 42 ft. from the alcove corner (where I'm sitting to take the photo) to the opposite corner you see. Out of sight to my right is the dining area. When we were house hunting, I kept asking if walls could be knocked down so I could have a large multi-use living area. Then we walked into this house...and I knew this was the one...even though the floor was covered in bilious green dog-urine-stained commercial carpet..glued down, of course. Every window in the house (and the French doors) was covered with the original Venetian blinds with bedraggled tapes. The walls were all dirty white..the original paint had never been refreshed...and forget color! And don't forget that original lilac tile fireplace! And the kitchen! Fohgeddaboudid! The world's most inconvenient kitchen...not to mention UGLY! But it had the good bones I was seeking and loads of potential. It's been great fun and a labor of love to reinvent this house and make it a home, a comfy nest that we both love. I'm braver than most of my clients.
