At least I have, as the flame did go out in my green house one night, and I had visions of that light bulb senario as I unwittingly open the door...sniff..what's that smell. I opened it up and exited in a hurry..I even turned off the power before I went back..LOL.. I had that similar issue last year, I didn't want to keep them in the green house..too cold, but Iwhen it warms up here..ya have to be ready to put them in the ground. I bought some patio end tables at the thrift shop, and had the MG's out on the front porch during the day, and then just opened the front door and kept them in the house over night. Now this worked for me just fine, but non garden folks tend to get a little testey, but ..it's just a couple weeks. Of course last year, was the first time I grew morning glories..so I had child like impatience. I didn't realize there were so many different patterns and colors. I haven't even started mine this year. I did direct sow a few that I noticed are coming up. I think I just figured out what this vine I have growing is from your list Mike...does this look like Ipomoea lobata (Mina lobata) to you? I bought a packet of seeds in Amsterdamn a couple of years ago. Ths leaf shape is unfamilar and I've been wondering what could possibly so eagar to be growing so fast, when the rest of the garden is barely waking up. here's pick......matter of fact I think I will take trip to PF now. |
