This entry from an old medical journal "Flore Medicale" of 1814, is interesting because it is describing Convolvulus jalap. It is assigning many of the purgative properties we associate with Ipomoea purga or what we call "Jalap" today. However, the drawing of this plant shows a cream colored or yellow bloom, rather than the purple on we now call Jalap.
