I'm so proud of myself for FINALLY trying air layering. I have a Ficus Sylvie that I'd like to make fuller and thought this would be a fun way to do it! First, I wounded the the stem and dusted the cut with rooting horomone. Then, I wet some spaghum moss and wrapped a handful around the wound. I wrapped the spag with saran wrap and wrapped each end with twist ties. I have to check it every few days to see if the spag has dried. If so, I'll simply untie the top and pour a little bit of water in to rewet. It could take anywhere from 30-60 days(or longer) for roots to develop in the spagh. Wish me luck! I'll keep everyone posted on it's progress.
