This Prunus serotina developed this oozing and loss of bark; maybe 6 months to a year before that my neighbor next door expanded his driveway and it cut some if the roots. I don't know if the problem is related to that or not. It is too high for it to have been browsed by deer. The tree foliage is healthy looking (Or was last summer when I took the photo) and still fruits. Is it insect damage, or stress, or what? And should I plan on cutting it down before it progresses and dies or can I save it?
