jpolk34 wrote: I ordered seven saw palmetto's from Stokes Tropicals in the 'blue' or silver form. I received them yesterday and when I unpacked them I noticed they were completely green with no traces of blue or silver pigmentation. The people at Stokes have been very helpful and claim that they are the blue variety, but that there is great variation in color amongst the species. That being said they explained that if I was not satisfied I could send them back for a full refund. My question is this: Does anyone know if they get more blue or silver with age? Should I try to find another source that has a bluer saw palmetto? I was really excited about the blue or silver coloration and how it was going to look great in contrast to a row of dwarf indian hawthorn I had planned to plant them behind. I have attached a picture of 2 of them fresh from unpacking. Someone with experience with these please give me some advice. Thanks. |
