Hitting the flower at the right time is a bit hard with out having the pollen at hand. I usually have Mac pollen all spring its the others that I have a hard time getting. I plan to try more breeding this year if all goes well. Last season I was only able to cross Mac and borneo giant but I did the same cross about 5 times on 5 different plants. I have around 25 or so seedlings growing. Not sure what they will look like but wish I had something with a bit more color to have breed to Borneo. I plan to breed more with it this season. Cuprea on it would have been amazing LOL. But then again cuprea on anything sounds nice. Here is my Macloba hybrid. It is around 6 feet tall now and has the dark maroon coloring under the leaves. Like most my hybrids it is great to grow in the ground all summer and make a huge house plant. |
