My new one was pink and it's about the same stage as your withered one. But I 'oversummered' one in the garden too, a first for me, and that one is not quite as far along as yours. What I noticed is that the old bulbs send up leaves as well as scapes, whereas the new one I got at Christmastime didn't have any leaves, just the scape.

I'll be looking forward to your pics when things burst into bloom, bet it'll be a sight for sore eyes.... hey, didn't you just have laser surgery? You CAN see now, right? lol
