So maybe I should stop trying so hard with them. I do have lots of rhizomatous that seem to be doing great in the cold here. I left them outside to sink or swim. But I think once the rains here for more than a day or 2, they will rot in the cold. I ran across an incredible looking plant a while back while reading Shocking Beauty by Thomas Hobbs. I think it would be so great for your border there. I couldn't capture the rich mahogany red the plant is but you can see it makes quite a statement. It would add such rich color and texture.
