Rural Gardening: Bees in a tree cavity, 1 by escambiaguy

Last summer there were lots of bees coming from this tree cavity (hole), and they were swarming up to 20ft from the tree. I read a report a few days ago where africanized "killer" bees were caught near New Orleans. That's not very from from me so I don't want to take any chances, this tree is near my walking trail through the woods. Is there any way that I can make sure they don't colonize this hole again?
