All the while the kids were growing up we went out and chopped a spruce which was always bushier, though often with significant gaps. This is a good tree - open enough to get ornaments INTO the tree, not just at the tips of the branches, but full enough to look good. It's mostly the light that makes it look like there is a big hole on one side.
