Like Armando said, shaded from the sun (especially in FL) but pleanty of light maybe it could take OK. morning or filtered sun. Keep the soil evenly moist and well draining. If the humidity is high mine can run a little on the dry side and give it a totem to wrap around, it's amazing to watch them bend around the pole as they grow and don't forget to feed it every now and then.

Mine are still all in pots in the garden but i'm planning on starting some in the garden next year.

There was also a lot of debate over the names . This will help explain that.

This is my latest, 'silver spear', also from Brian seems to be unusual as it maitains this long leaf form in maturity.
