That Pride of Barbados is one beautiful plant. Connie and I first saw it in San Antonio when we evacuated there last year. One of my Mom's very best friends has some in her back yard. She gave us both some seeds. Connie planted her seeds first. They sat there and sat there. A few months later, I planted mine. Mine took off and were about a foot tall. Then I had a problem with Black Sooty Mold and I had to move them. I put them into a pot that didn't have very good drainage. They are still about a foot tall.... and pretty sad looking. Connie's, on the other hand, finally took off and she had blooms!!! We both love those orage and red fiery blooms. Someone in Connie's neighborhood has 8-10 of them in front of their house. It's a traffic stopper, for sure!

For those unfamiliar with the Pride of Barbados, this is a photo of one of Connie's.
