Looks like you had your experience just in time.

The mama and 3 cubs were seen daily along the Pinnacles Trail this summer. Everyone (humans and bears alike) kept a respectful distance and luckily there were no closer-than-wanted encounters. Overnight camping on the mountain was prohibited for awhile, though.

Here are my friends admiring a Colima Warbler. This lovely little Warbler nests nowhere else in the United States.
