This plant is on the premises of my condo complex. Evergreen. About 3' in height. Flowers: single; up to at least 5" wide; 6-petaled; this year it bloomed beginning early June and again in late July; no blooms since sometime in August. Leaves: up to at least 4" x 4 1/4",; slightly thick; alternate; orbicular. There are 3 other Hibiscus plants on the same premises - one with red single flowers and two with orange/yellowish double flowers. D.G.'s Identification forum ID'd them as rosa-sinensis. Whereas their leaves tend to be lance-like, the one featured in this thread has rounded leaves. Whereas this thread's Hibiscus is not blooming now, the other 3 are. The 4 photos that follow were shot June 5 and 6, 2006. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot. |
