Because it's a species, you can propagate it from seed, unless you happen to have a sport or something, in which case you should (1) register a cultivar and (2) propagate from vegetative material. ;-) I've been told it can be propagated from leaf or from tip cuttings, but I've never tried it because I found that the seeds are impossibly incredibly fertile. I got some 800 seedlings out of a pod I sowed, and every single little sprout matured. It bloomed in a few months too. It's also very drought tolerant and will live in a dark corner with no water for 2-3 months. Of course, it will look ratty and not flower, but it'll be alive. In fact, let me pull it out, take a pic, and maybe water it.... This has gone without water for about 3 months. |
