my clematis 'Dr Ruppel', that I planted spring '05 and gave up on this year (I mean there was not a speck of green showing above ground), and then it came up again this August, is growing by leaps & bounds. there are 5 decent vines 3 1/2 - 4' high on the trellis. it's a type 2 that blooms on new & old wood, so I'll bet it'll put on a decent show for me next spring. can't wait to see it.
