After weeks of lifting, hauling & carrying big slabs of broken concrete, cement blocks, wheelbarrowing loads of dirt and screening same without a problem it seems pulling and cleaning a clump of rhubarb has done the job on my back. Made it through Immy's last Obedience class yesterday,barely, and have till next Thursday before the new session begins in which to heal. (thank goodness for leftover codeine pills) The carpenter isn't scheduled to arrive till monday and the appointment with the cardiologist isn't until Thursday afternoon so that means a whole weekend to recoup, but who can sit still for a whole weekend ? not me. DW and friends are off to Saltspring Isl. in the Canadian San Juans for the weekend so it will be sort of lonesome here. Fall is in the air and the sunroom ceiling has to be insulated, re-wired and re-sheeted before I can bring the Brugs and other young plants in for the winter, and can't do it with this old back like it is. Just another example of what I WANT rather than what I NEED. Looking around, there are so many wonderful things I've been blessed with that dwelling on a couple inconveniences seems downright ungrateful.
