Just take some of the water out of the ceramic basin, put the plants and (2) goldfish in a big plastic dishpan ( functional not pretty) bring it into the house and wait until spring. Everything will live just fine.

The " that - is - too - easy" part of me says..it won't work like you think it will. So I come to the experts: All of you. I've read the forum and it's clear you all know LOTS !!! more about this than I do, but I'm willing to learn. My goal in the next two years is to put in a 10-20K gallon pond..but until then, I am working on a smaller, much smaller scale.
