Here are a couple of photos of one of my several varieties of Elderberries. This one is Sambucus Quincho Purple. 1st the whole tree-shrub. Very vigorous. It was pruned severely this spring to try to keep it under control. Had lots of bloom and now there are several branches that are at least 15 feet tall. The birds love Elderberries. The Eastern Kingbirds have eatten all the fruit on the native one that I transplanted into the yard. It has the largest fruits and seems to be earliest to ripen. This morning there was one -only- Cedar Waxwing eating on the variegated Sambucus growing in front of my computer room window. A pair of Cedar Waxwings had a nest somewhere in the yard.
