meezersfive wrote: Do worms taste like chicken? I guess I'm the early poster, since Hope got in after midnight but hadn't gone to bed yet. It was a lovely night for sleeping, nice and cool. I'm sure I enjoyed it...and trust that it has cooled off enough so that everyone else got in a good snooze. Woke up with Olivia purring in my ear, and DH getting ready to drive to IA to pick up a car he found for a coworker. I'm having breakfast with my DS and DIL and we three are going to the art fair after. So, Robert, that's what you've been up to. We haven't heard from Ernie for a while so I think he's resting up from Maria's visit. Your new raised bed looks great. You are quite the landscaper! I was trying to talk DH into doing one in the back corner but he didn't fall for it. You've got a list of projects long enough for two men! That will keep you out of mischief while your DW is with her classmates. At least I hope so. That Immy, you knew she was a smartie! I just loved our friend's sheltie, after he got over being shy , he would bring me toys to throw for him. When he figured we were done playing, he would pick them all up and put them back in his toy box. What a sweet boy. Got my auto ins. premium yesterday, went down $20, so either they've forgiven me for squishing that guy's Miata, or they figure my car is so old it's not worth covering anymore. Darius, what were you thinking walking around barefoot after you broke that jar? Even those of us who can see know that a bare foot will always find that stray piece of glass that we couldn't find when we cleaned up the mess. I was intrigued with your peach melba recipe, and yesterday I picked up a nice basket of fat blackberries and wondered how they would work with peaches...they are huge compared to my wild ones that grow in the back corner. Didn't get much of a crop this year. Might do up a batch this afternoon, I'll let you know how it works out. Sarv, all that pollen came off my white tee just fine, I think you can still pretreat it and wash it again with good success. Sure made a mess of mine, looked like a chili explosion! Dirt is a lot harder to get out. Cece I have spare shovels, just run over here when you need one. V'ann, he plants all his hosta in mushroom compost? I plant mine in native soil which here, consists of rocks and clay!! No matter how much amending we do, it seems like the ground just swallows up the good stuff and leaves the old. They sure are hardy though, mine grow as if they don't care what their feet are in. My big blue hosta in front of the house looks awful from all the heat and sun. I'm thinking I should divide it and move it where it doesn't get beaten up so badly in July and August. I clipped the flower stalks off the ones along the north side of the house, and they haven't been burnt like the ones in front. ~~~~s to Molly, Elaine, Sgt, Dot, Ernie, IO1, Suzie, WS, Susan, Bonnie, Ves, Corky and whoever else I might have missed. Time to hit the ironing board so I don't embarass my kids, and get myself presentable. See you all later. Have a beautiful day! Sheila P..S. I don't remember planting these!! Sometimes CRS provides nice surprises. . This message was edited Aug 13, 2006 5:41 AM |
