The greater is 48" tall with the single scape 4" wide. The former bulbs I've grown for several years. I believe I started with 3; when I depotted to repot this spring had about 15 bulbs which were subsequently divided into 2 pots (couple given away). One pot had a large pot of gloriosa lilies fall off of a stand and land on them while the other pot is half of the subject of this theme. The Eucomis Pole-Evansii is a single bulb I've grown two summers, no bloom 1st year but what a bloom this year. Both pots are situated to receive hefty doses of sun. The greater receives most of it's energy in the afternoon, the former in the morning. I do water copiously once they're up and going. Pic is last year's lesser Eucomis. |
