Some cold appears to be OK as long as they are not damp. Mine were on the deck in a protected spot under an eave so they did not get rained on and they got little supplimental water; just enough to keep them from drying out. It was the leeward side of the house so they were also protected from our never ending winter winds. The original plans were to cover them if frost was expected but we had no frost. That may not be the situation this coming winter so the tarps will stay nearby. My garage and attic are filled with boxes of old sheets and bedspreads for those nasty cold nights and my DH is really a dear for putting up with the mess. This is Candy Wind in early April. Kell, the spot I had my plants in does not get much light and our air is pretty damp; they did not start blooming until I moved them back into the sun and started feeding the hungry little buggers. I think you could do this. |
