And then DH hogs the machine. lol I should have made notes as I read - duh me! Now I can't remember squat, of course! Glad you are safe and sound, home again, Maria! And there is nothing like a lonely dog to welcome you home! Barney would yip and 'talk' for 15-20 mins everytime we came home in the truck. And that was usually for a 2 day absence. lol The heat here has been unbearable! It is over 100º. Major uck! And the humidity has been over 90 percent and higher. Wed. or Thurs. am it was 100 percent and not raining. You can't hardly breath outside! Last Sunday we went to the air show in Sioux Falls. The Blue Angels were performing. It was awesome! They came for the SD Natl Guard's 60th anniversary. The Budweiser Clydsdales were there too - not flying tho. ha ha! The temp was only 96º but the humidity was down that day so it was tolerable. We were there from 10 am to 4:30 and just the last half hour I was starting to feel miserable. I was surprised I tolerated the heat that well but I wore a large 'straw' hat and drank 4 or 5 bottles of water. Only went to the WC once so the rest got used up! I've been watering every day. We have water restrictions so only do the pots daily. I sure wish DH would get the hose working on the front of the house again. It takes 5 trips with milk jugs to water all the pots. I'm REALLY tired of doing that. The hose is long enough out back to do the garden and both sides of the house so that's not so bad. We had a storm Mon. night and got 1 inch of rain in less than 30 mins. That is the only rain we've had in a month so all the grass is brown here. I'm seeing brown corn and soybeans on the way to work too. Some is already past the point of developing any crops. We're definitely in a drought situation. The birds did not get my black currant crop this year. I got them picked in time. :) I filled 5 jars, about 12 to 16 ounces each, plus 10 of those little jars that come in those meat/cheese/jam boxes people buy for hostess gifts or for people they don't know what to buy for at Christmas time. I gave them away at work. That was fun! So I'll leave a jar on the counter and you can all try some on your icecream (actually the best is on Dutch pudding but I'm out of mix right now so you'll have to make do with icecream). :) Speaking of which, I think I'll have some right now!
