We had two nice downpours this morning, so I suggested to DH that he turn off the sprinkler....I have not been able to convince him that a once a week good soak is enough for the grass, and that giving the other plants a daily shower instead of a good soaking is better, so I just gave up. As far as the cow poo goes, it is gold, and smells a lot better than exhaust fumes and road tar melting. Darius, I honestly wonder when I see these huge houses how they manage to pay the mortgage. And none of these young people seem willing to wait and save for the things they buy on credit. I am shocked at the size of my DS and DD's credit card debt, it would make me faint! I gave each of them a sizable sum, last year and this, and suggested it would be good to use it to pay them off, but maybe I should have made the checks out to the card co. because neither of them did it. I didn't see any point in them waiting for me to croak, and pension regulatiions would have required it to go to my spouse, He doesn't need it. And no monthly budget for them either!! Even though I am comfortable financially, I still clip coupons, save my change, have a special "mad money" account for emergencies...do they all think those paychecks will come in forever? One major financial disaster and they'll be in huge trouble. I feel pretty much like Dorothy about the Humvees and SUVs and Off Road vehicles, those people don't really need them and are just displaying their wasteful habits for the rest of us to see. I can see a Soccer Mom needing a van to haul kids and equipment around, but really, how many people are off roading, or need a military style vehicle to drag their butts around? This is such a wasteful society, it's no wonder many countries think we are insane or greedy or both. Sarv, how do you save the wave petunia seeds? Do you just take off the dead blossom, or shake it, or what? Mary, the satellite people will do almost anything to avoid making a service call, and must have used up all their excuses by the time you convinced them that it was THEIR system that needed attention from a technician. We've been very happy with the service we've gotten from TimeWarner, they are prompt with service, their phone techs are invariably polite and patient, and we have had no problems like we had with the dish. I would guess that it isn't available because you are out of a service area, we waited four years for them to lay cable out here. OK, if nobody is baking, I will march to the kitchen and start pastry for a blueberry pie. Maria needs somethng sweet for her homecoming. Later.' Sheila PS. Who did this??? |
