I had called DH at work to ask if it was raining there, he's miles west/south, and he said it had been raining for about a half hour. Then the emergency sirens went off there, and they all had to leave for the shelters, so I knew we were likely to get something big.

Our rain gutter on the upper garage drains down through a pipe in the ground, and comes out below the rock wall next to the lower driveway. Here's what the water looked like spouting upwards from the deluge!!
