You gotta live where folks think the animal can survive on its' own to appreciate that. Sometimes it IS the humane answer. I have to say I used to want to see a dead snake. Over the years, I have learned to identify good from bad. Now, the only ones that I discriminate against are poisonous in the yard where they can cause mayhem with the critters. I have had many a vet bill for snake bites. I also have many acquaintances who have suffered copperhead bites in particular. Because they ARE mellow, they lay there and let you step on them, sit on them, etc. Most snakes are beautifully marked and all serve a purpose in the delicate balance of nature. This one was on the patio with 2 dogs/4 cats so... another one bites the dust... |
