My Holliana was a cutting from a plant that the nursery wanted $35 for. Nice young fella who was watering plants just nipped it off when I lamented that it was so expensive and I'd really rather have a smaller plant anyway to watch grow, even a cutting from that would make me happy. He made me even happier when he said no charge! That cutting, too, took more than a year to get growing, but then it grew like crazy and bloomed quite a few times, and then I started taking cuttings from it. Late last year it looked as if it was ready to bite the dust, so I cut it right back. All the cuttings I took died, but the main plant never did, and recently started growing again. Fussy, but tough in its own hoya way I guess. Here she is before her haircuts.
