meezersfive wrote: Anybody got any recommendations for decent coffee that doesn't cost the family fortune. I'm tightening my grocery belt, due to my enormous repair bill for the Toyota and going to forego the $7 per lb. whole bean that I usually get. Tried Maxwell House and it's not horrible but it's not so good either. Still haven't found that bag of Kona blend I put in a safe place.... Darius, I think Carat said it all....run!!! you couldn't pay me enough money to live with a teenager again! Maybe one would be tolerable but I think I used up all my patience when I had my three plus a niece and a nephew , all at the same time. And, believe me, that was NOT my idea. Hope all the financing/tests/paperwork associated with the purchase go smoothly. Did you ever do anything with that radon report you got from the place you were renting? And Carat, having Jenn in her own apartment for a while before you move is going to be a real learning experience for her. She'll find out quickly that food doesn't reproduce in the refrigerator, laundry doesn't do itself, and bills must be paid on time! Lauri, whew, that's hot! I'm hopelessly limp when the temperature gets over 80 or so. Don't do heat well. Lived in Denver in the mid-sixties, and we had a long hot spell of over 100*, I thought I would die. Used to go sit in the kid's wading pool with them. Told them to splash on mom. Laptops are unbelievably heavy. I can barely drag mine up from the bottom shelf of the coffee table without grunting. Can't picture dragging it through those endless airport corridors. If I go anywhere it will probably stay home. Maria, it does feel like rocks! Sarv, good breakfast! LOL Glad your dinner was fun. I enjoy meeting for lunch with my former coworkers, most of whom are retired. And we are all very happy to have left the politics, the work load, and the sniping behind us. As my old boss said once, it's a better world out here. Mary, I hope whatever bug was trying to bite you has given up and you feel well this morning. I do better with a list to cross things off too, when I have multiple chores to do. Even better, if I don't write them down sometimes I can forget about them completely. Elaine, sometimes I tell DH "I haven't really been sitting here all day!!" because I'm usually on when he leaves for work, and am doing my end of the day checking when he comes home. Of course, he doesn't notice that I've done laundry, or cleaned, or shopped, all that just happens by magic. And, you shared that little tomato. No matter the size it had to taste better than those cardboard flavored supermarket abominations. Woofens!! No secrets!! What new pet? I'm still looking for a female sealpoint, but it won't surprise anybody when I get one. Which reminds me I need to make a call. One lady I spoke to a couple weeks ago said she had some due. I know you all need a Sammi fix but he's growing so fast, it seems he needs a lot of sleep. He is way bigger than Souky now, and has calmed down quite a bit although he does have his moments. One of my Mother's day gifts came in a big Crate and Barrel box and it's still in the living room as he and Souky play hide and seek in it. Nice decor....LOL Jody,it's nice to see you again. And for all you others who only drop in when time permits, we are always glad to see you so don't ever feel that you aren't part of this coffee klatch. McCool, I've pretty much considered "guys" to be gender neutral for a long time now. Doesn't bother me a bit. I think the fellas would be more than a little upset if we called them "gals" but I don't think that's likely to happen. Dcat, the towing place is probably not answering your calls because they know they are in the wrong. Next time you leave a message, just tell them you are notifying the police that your car was illegally towed and see if that doesn't get them off the dime. Susan, a year of healing! I don't recall them telling you that before the surgery....but then, my Dr. didn't tell me I had a slight tear in my rotater cuff either, just told me to take Naproxin twice a day and see him again later. If that's all the advice I'm getting out of him he can forget seeing me. And my DIL is the one who told me the diagnosis, as she works in that office. She said they don't like to repair them on anyone over fifty....Cripes, everybody I know is over fifty!!! ~~~~~at Suzi, Solitaire, hope, Flamingo, Oz, Bal, Ernie, lurkers, stalkers, peekers, and anyone else who gets sucked into reading our daily ramblings. Incidentally, the ~~~ symbol on my keyboard is left of the numeral one, in the upper left hand corner. Later.... Sheila |
