I have some lovely parrot tulips that were a total surprise. What I ordered (and the label said) where red Darwin hybrids, I think 'Parade'. They were a steal on ebay, something like $12 for 40 bulbs. It's worked beautifully because I needed late spring color in that area, and the blooms are huge. Since I have the tulips in that bed planted in pots for mole/vole protection, I just had to bring a pot up closer to the house. The color is actually more magenta; the pics look more red.
