I read what it says on Rachel's page and tried to follow that the best I could. But I do have a couple of questions. Once all the little plantlets are separated, the moma is left with some roots herself. Can she just be put in a pot to grow to become a plant herself? She has roots on her so that is why I am wondering. I got 5 plantlets from one Lyra, 5 from the other Lyra, and 4 from Rhapsodie Carman. The only thing I had to put them in was 2½" pots. So I put wicks in each pot and planted the little plants or do you call baby plants plantlets? Anyway, I did it this way so that when I send them out to everyone they will already be ready to live in their new home, with wick and all. I got this idea from Allison. That is the way she sent mine and I thought it was so nice that I thought I would do mine like that too. So after they were all separated and re-potted, I gave them all a little bit of Optimara plant food to get them off to a good start. Does this sound okay? I took some photos along the way and I sure hope that I did this right. If I didn't, please let me know. I had rather someone tell me now than for me to continue to do it wrong. The first photo is of the babies that I got off of my first Lyra leaf. |
