The pressure is on you to make it live and prosper and reproduce. LOL Sue read up on your Paul Hernandez http://members.aol.com/Btbegonia/shrub.htm Makes me want to keep it. B.'Paul Hernandez', although this plant has been out for awhile, it is just starting to gain in popularity. It is probably the largest growing begonia, or at least the largest that I can think of and is very fast growing. The leaves can get 2 or more feet across and are interestingly cut and have a puckered texture. A small sale plant may not look exciting but anyone who has seen a mature plant wants it. I have 3 plants just because it is so spectacular. The blooms are small white flowers held in huge upright clusters that can be a foot across and only accent further an already awesome plant. I have seen plants of B.'Paul Hernadez' that were 8 foot tall and I have seen some that were 6 feet or more across so if you want a large showcase plant this is the one. It Linda, you will love Longs there. They have a huge outdoor section in the front but also on the side that you get to thru the store. They have every kind of soil additive you would ever want. And most you have never heard of so you had no idea how much you really needed it till you see it there. Also go to the Ace Hardware 5 mintes from there in Piedmont. Then 5 min from there is Lakeshore gardens which is such fun to explore. Not big, so you can go fast. If you have kids with you, bring bread to feed the 20 kinds of birds there on the lake. So Lali, this one was at Lakeside. Is it Paul Hernandez?? |
