He is not a horse more like a 2 yr old kid...My friends husband told me his wife was selling him and that he has ringbone, if he wasn't sold soon he was going to the auction to be dog food, come look at him...I did and fell in love after a ride. So I bought him knowing full well I might have only 3-5 years of riding him left. Last Friday evening He stepped straight down, 2 feet deep into a hole in the field and did some damage to his ankle/tendon and I have him up in a 14x14 corral and his leg wrapped up to help support his ankle. His appointment is Thursday for x-rays and a possible temporary nerve block. He has a hard time putting too much pressure onto that leg. He is currently on 2grams of Bute morning and night for pain and does love his drugs as it's nap time 1/2 hour after eating it. As for the mucking it's just pulling wheelbarrow loads of poo and wet straw outof the stall/corral twice a day.
As for me I was pulling the last of the bad hay out of the shed, it was full of sand, when I slipped and one leg went one way and the other went out the door and the bale slammed me against the door frame and reinjured an old back injury I got from when I was a nurse, I'm o.k. just sore and stiff. Got a 20 min hiney chewing for not getting help from DH, but I as usual was just doing it....
