Remember several days ago, when I posted the pic of the chionodoxa that came up in a random location? The same random location that the crocus came up in? Well, today, I tried to dig up the chionodoxa, and relocate it with the rest of them that I had planted last fall. I dug and I dug and never did find the bulb. That thing was WAY down there - who knows how much further down it was. Normally, these are just a couple of inches underground.

Besides the crocus and the chionodoxa, one daffodil also came up and bloomed there this spring. Now seriously, I haven't had bulbs in that bed for at least ten years, I figured out today. What I think must have happened is that last fall, when I tore out some of the daisies, and worked up the soil real well, I disturbed those bulbs enough that they 'woke up' from their Rip van Winkle sleep. I can't figure out how else this happened. Yes, a long time ago, I did have these planted there, but like I said, it's been at least ten years since any have come up!
