DD lost 'Oreo' on Thurs. Long story but the gist of it is, he got his leash tangled around the swing set post and apparently hit his head on the post while trying to evade a stray cat. Usually he chases them all out of the yard (hilarious to watch!) but this time was no go. She had him to the vet and vet said, who knows? rabbits are funny, may come out of it just fine, may die. Happened Mon., he died Thurs. She felt really bad, was her fault, etc., but 'Oreos' been out there fine for more than two years so what can u say. Sad it happened. :(

I was telling a gal at work abt the accident and his demise and she asked if DD wanted another rabbit. I figured she would as she can't have dogs or cats at her apt. so the gal said she knew a friend that was looking for a home for their rabbit. It was a door prize 1.5 years ago and their kids were ignoring it so she wanted to find a new home for it. And, ironically, he was black and white and his name was .... yup! 'Oreo'! how hilarious! DD wouldn t believe me at first but I finally convinced her I was telling the truth and she called the lady yesterday and picked him up today. 'Oreo' #1 was a Dutch and looked like an oreo - black ends and white middle. 'Oreo' #2 is speckled and spotted and a lop-ear, abt twice the size of #1. DD says they're going to change his name cuz he just does not look like an oreo. So far doesn't seem to have the unique personality of #1 but who knows, maybe with more attention, he'll show more spirit. Here he is......
