I think everyone has old newspaper and here
is a good use for it. You could get your kids
involved with this project and you will have a
bunch in no time.

I'm going to transplant my started seedling into them.
Then come May I will just peel away the newspaper
and plant them into the ground or into a pot.

This worked really well for me several years ago with
tomato seedlings. Saved some money too....
