The flowers on the left opened first, and remained this deep purple color until they dried up a couple of weeks later. This is the first time this plant had bloomed, and when it did I was very excited, since I'm pretty sure it is an offspring of a plant I thought I'd lost, 'Purple Ruffles.' Then the paler, lavender-pink blooms on the right opened, and I didn't know what to think! One of the lighter blooms actually opened with a very distinct white pinwheel, but later faded away to a fairly solid color pansy. Maybe I'll put down a leaf or two and see what happens.... No matter the color, I like the large size and ruffled edges of the blooms! Edited to add that this photo is very close to the bloom colors on the plant -- the lighter blooms are in no way due to the flash or some other trick of lighting.
