I know the episcias sounds crazy but it has happened to me many times and I have told people and they were surprised it did for them.
I had one that grew so large. It was in a 12 pot. it was my Tri-color.
It must of got tired and started to die back :((. Well it was heavy in a hanging pot. Waitng on my busy hubby to take it down. ( good thing I had to wait a long time lol ) I gave it tiny amounts of water here and there. To my amazment one day was the cutest little baby about 2 " big.
I took it out being so small and gave it it's own pot. It grew big and healthy and I was again able to share it with dozens of people :))
My favorite Aussie Alcie, My Grandmother name Alice. Mom wanting one. Alice shows no boundaries . Mom's tiny plant grew and grew over the past two years. I have transplanted it so many times. One time she brought me a plant of at least 4 feet long of winding soft baby baskets . The foliage was so soft she had it in a box as she never took a baby off
and in just a few months wow. I took it apart repotted her a nice big plant and made new babies !
Once again time went by and i had no lie share Alice with well over 50 people and those people sharing Alice too.
I had no more Alice :((. So MOm brought her plant not doing well with babies :)) I think when my sister was visiting she gave it too much love and watered it too much.
Well it had a lot of plant in a large 8 inch pot but most of it out of the pot. I did not and could not use any of the roots. I made a nice big plant for Mom in a pan pot . I made several other baby plants .
But here I had a pot with some roots maybe a stub or so. I always thrwo old dirt away, I never reuse pots... But I was not going to thrwo it away. I stuck it out on the deck. It got heat and rain. My husband had to move it into the screen room shed beacasue of a Hurricane coming. He then after took it out and out the pot in his shade garden that gets nice morning light. He watered the empty pot .taking care of it. This pot is big about 10 " across and very deep it was a hand painted pot I bought for Mom's plant. I want to tell you within a month he had a good size plant. Then the pot was full and foliage and babies flowing over
lots of flowers. It grows better than the ones inside. It is so soft and the color perfect and foliage so soft. I stoled some of his babies here and there lol and more grew back twice as fast. :))
I never throw aways an Episcia .
Tri-color from the dead plant/that gave me a little baby :))
