Good morning,

Checked in a few times yesterday, but didn't have time to write anything.

Molly - sorry to hear about the food poisoning. Likely the turkey, but one is never completely sure. While our TG was about 6 weeks ago, I stuffed my turkey for the first time in years. Generally it's easier to do the stuffing separately. And, I guess safer though I've never had a problem, yet..........

Maria - woo Hoo!!! Want to buy some tickets for me? I've occasionally won new tickets and I think I won $50 once. That's it. Of course, I know you have to BUY the tickets to win. LOL

Hi to all the rest of you. I read with interest, but don't always have the time to make detailed notes on all your activities.

DH is still in a medical clinic in Bad Mergentheim, Germany. Won't get to his meetings in Finland. He said this morning that the temperature was almost down to normal, but he won't travel until they give him clearance to do so. Lucky he went early and visited cousins in Germany, I guess. A couple of them are retired medical doctors and they probably got him to medical care earlier than he would have had he gone straight to Finland or possibly even at home.

My handbells played yesterday morning and aquitted themselves well. The piece with the choir was especially popular with the congregation.

After church, I stopped by a restaurant supply place to which I should have gone on Saturday. (Church is about half-way there; so it made sense to detour by on the way home). I bought a pot. It's a bit bigger (deeper) than my previous pot, but the same diameter - 7 inches. Lids come separately at this store; so I didn't buy one and the old lid fits it just fine. My small steamer insert is a bit too small although I could use it in a pinch. But my larger one that fits more than one pot works well. I would just have to use the lid from my 3 quart saucepan.

I've attached a picture. It has a large disk on the bottom of the pan which is steel with aluminum encased in it and it goes right out to the edge of the pan; so it will limit burning in the corners from the gas flame. Used it last night and it seems to heat up more quickly than my older anodized aluminum pan did. I ended up turning the gas way down. Best of all, it was only $60 Cdn less 33%. (The lid would have been another $23). A similar pot in the department stores was about $200 and I could never find a sales clerk to answer any questions anyway. I'm quite happy with the purchase.

Ann

PS Darius - what is the story behind the ROCK?
