Quick Background on Spring Peach: I was sent this baby as a cutting early spring last year. I put it in a VERY LARGE pot outside in partial sun/shade. It was almost 5 feet tall this fall when it started to get cold and I didn't have any place to put it. I decided to bring her inside and try keeping it as a houseplant. As soon as I brought it in, it bloomed 1 single flower (see pictures at link below). I have been watering it like a regular houseplant and every now and then I heave it down from on top of the microwave to mist the leaves etc. So far I have not seen 1 bug or indication that it is being attacked by anything. She still looks good and healthy and the amaryllis that share the pot with her seem happy too. Did I mention that this brug lives in Maine? *lol*. Maybe next year I will cut the tops off and just leave the stalks but quite honestly I am enjoying that "tropical" look in my kitchen even though it takes up 1/4 of my total kitchen space.....awwwww.....the things we do for the plants we love. I hope you enjoy. Here are pictures of her one and only bloom. http://www.jakesplace.biz/kimskreations/TEMPLATES/KimsHousep... The picture below was taken yesterday (11/7/05): Kim |
