The very brightly colored NOID she has in her kitchen is one of three suckers from the original plant. Once I separated the suckers I noticed dark splotches on the leaves of the mother plant. I thought I had introduce my collection to a virus. But on close inspection I found the underside of the leaf was red only where the dark blotches appeared on the top. Interesting, huh?
I asked what it might be and was informed that it was a birth mark. Probably, parts of the leaf sporting back to one of the original parents.
